Having built an exceptional technical foundation, the business is entering its next phase of growth and is looking for an experienced AI leader to help scale both its technology and engineering organisation.

The Role
As Director of AI, you'll provide the technical and organisational leadership needed to take the company to its next stage.
You'll lead a talented team of AI Engineers and Machine Learning specialists, helping to scale the function, attract exceptional talent and deliver innovative AI products that solve real-world problems.

Responsibilities
Lead and grow a high-performing AI Engineering team.
Scale the organisation through strategic hiring, mentoring and leadership.
Define the technical roadmap alongside the founders and executive team.
Oversee the development and deployment of cutting-edge AI products.
Drive engineering best practices, technical excellence and innovation.
Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration and continuous learning.
Work closely with Product and Engineering to turn ambitious ideas into scalable solutions.
Represent the AI function as the company continues its rapid growth.

About You
Previous leadership experience within AI Engineering, Machine Learning or Applied AI.
Experience scaling technical teams in a high-growth or fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of modern AI technologies, including LLMs, Generative AI and Agentic AI.
Commercial experience building production AI applications.
A hands-on leader who enjoys developing people as much as technology.
Comfortable operating in a scale-up where you'll influence both strategy and execution.
Fluent German and English.
