CONFIDENTIAL Scovai, a pioneering force in the Talent Acquisition & Recruiting sector, is seeking an exceptional Director of AI Governance to join its Legal, Risk & Compliance function. Scovai's intelligent talent platform is built on a foundational commitment to transparent, auditable AI — and this senior leadership role is central to ensuring that commitment is upheld at every level of the organisation. Reporting into the executive team and engaging directly with the board, you will own and evolve Scovai's AI governance strategy, translating complex regulatory landscapes — including the EU AI Act, the UK AI regulatory framework, and GDPR — into robust, actionable policies that protect the business, its clients, and the candidates whose careers depend on fair, ethical AI.

As Director of AI Governance, you will lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide AI governance frameworks, oversee AI/ML operations from a risk and compliance perspective, and manage third-party AI vendor risk with rigour. You will serve as the organisation's foremost authority on AI ethics, driving a culture of responsible innovation across product, engineering, and data teams. You will develop board-ready risk reporting, lead regulatory engagement, and ensure Scovai remains ahead of an evolving global compliance environment.

This is a rare opportunity to shape AI governance from the ground up at a company where responsible AI is not a constraint but a competitive differentiator. If you are a seasoned compliance and governance leader with a passion for ethical technology and the credibility to influence at the highest levels, this role offers unparalleled scope and impact.
Practical experience implementing ML documentation and audit artifacts (model cards, datasheets, lineage/provenance) to enable transparent audits Hands‑on familiarity with privacy‑preserving techniques and secure data practices (differential privacy, federated learning, privacy engineering) Proven track record embedding technical compliance controls into MLOps pipelines (automated testing, drift monitoring, explainability tooling, CI/CD for models) Experience engaging regulators and contributing to standards or industry consortia (ISO/IEEE/EC working groups, public consultations) Relevant certifications or framework expertise (ISO 27001/SOC 2, NIST AI RMF, CIPP/E, CISSP)
Nice to have
ISO 42001 certification or hands-on implementation experience
Background in financial services or other heavily regulated industries
Experience managing third-party AI vendor risk programmes
Proven track record of presenting AI risk and governance matters to C-suite or board audiences
Deep familiarity with GDPR and broader data protection law
