(Senior) Team Lead Data Analytics | Munich | on-site 2 days/week
One of Europe's fastest-growing travel tech scaleups is looking for a senior analytics leader to own one of their core BI teams. It's a real IC responsibility, strategic visibility, and a genuine seat at the table.
The role:
Lead a team of 4 direct reports within the Business Intelligence department
You'll help define what AI-native analytics looks like in practice: the tools, the workflows, the standards, the rituals. Your team will use Claude, Cursor, and whatever comes next as core instruments, not novelties. You should already be doing this yourself.
Engage with senior leadership on strategic projects influencing product strategy, internal operations, and revenue growth
Support stakeholders across Customer Support, Host Experience, Sales, and Account Management
Translate complex, multi-stakeholder problems into analytical requirements and communicate findings to both technical and commercial audiences
Do real analytical work: this is a hands-on lead role, not just a people manager title
Help shape BI department strategy and the future of AI-powered data products
Recruit top talent, set clear goals, and develop your team personally and professionally
Stack: AWS (Redshift, Athena, Glue, S3) · dbt · Airflow · Looker · SQL · Python · Git · Jira
What you bring:
5+ years of data analytics experience
Prior people management, this should not be your first leadership role
Track record of communicating with executive stakeholders and senior decision makers
Mission-driven, working-backwards mentality: start from business needs, deliver actionable insights
Strong SQL, Python (or similar), and data visualisation skills
Genuine AI fluency: active use of tools like Claude Code or similar is part of how they evaluate impact, not a nice-to-have
Why it's worth a look:
The company treats data as a core decision-making function, not a support layer.
You'll work on products used by millions of guests and tens of thousands of hosts, with fast iteration cycles and real learning opportunities.
Up to 8 weeks/year working from another location is part of the deal.
📍 Munich | Hybrid (2 office days/week) | International team, 60+ nationalities
