Data Program Manager (AI Labeling & Vendor Operations) | AI4Science

We are partnering with a fast-growing AI-for-science company to hire a Data Program Manager to lead their data sourcing, labeling, and vendor operations.

They are scaling their AI training data function and need someone who can own the full pipeline — from translating model requirements into structured project plans, to managing the quality frameworks and vendor relationships that keep data flowing at scale.

This is a hands-on program management role suited to someone who is equally comfortable setting up systems and getting into the operational detail across labeling, QA, and procurement.

Job Responsibilities

• Break data requirements into structured project plans covering scope, scale, priority, milestones, and budget across multiple concurrent workstreams
• Build and manage labeling and QA teams spanning in-house annotators, crowdsourced contributors, and external vendors
• Own quality assurance frameworks including gold sets, inter-annotator agreement (IAA), and spot-checks to reduce rework and maintain data standards
• Source, evaluate, and onboard data vendors; manage end-to-end relationships including SLAs, pricing, contracts, and payment
• Negotiate commercially and hold vendors accountable to delivery and quality commitments
• Communicate progress and risks clearly across legal, finance, and research teams

Job Requirements

• 3 or more years of experience in data operations, labeling project management, or data procurement, ideally for LLM or AI training data
• Proven track record in vendor negotiation and team management, whether in-house or outsourced
• Strong multi-project management skills with clear cross-functional communication

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLM or AI training data pipelines
• Familiarity with data licensing requirements and PII compliance
