What The Role Is
The Home Team Science and Technology Agency (HTX) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) which aims to pioneer innovation solutions and develop world class science and technology capabilities to transform and empower the Home Team in delivering safety and security for Singapore.
The HTxAI Products team is committed to empower our Home Team Department (HTD)'s flagship projects through the seamless integration of AI technologies. From identifying opportunities to delivery, launch, and continuous enhancement, HTxAI aims to push boundaries and setting new standards in homeland security.
The Deputy Director, AI Software Engineering will provide engineering leadership to a team of developers, delivering scalable AI-related platforms, products, and solutions to Home Team Departments (HTDs). This role serve as the highest-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AI technology, coaching and mentoring the team, establishing best practices, and ensuring quality delivery of solutions in AI modeling, machine learning, sensors, data fusion, and integration. In additional, the Deputy Director will support consultancy to HTDs as SMEs in AI and digital technologies across domains like Adversarial AI, Computer Vision AI, Embodied AI, Language AI, Multi-modal AI, and Emerging AI.
What You Will Be Working On
Develop technology roadmap for HTxAI Products team(s), lead the team(s) in customising and developing platform, products and solutions across in various AI domains.
Regularly review and formulate AI & Digitalisation roadmap with the awareness of AI capabilities and gaps of HTDs
Lead the HTX in-house development of AI technologies deployable for operations use in multiple platforms.
Advise the team on technical approach to undertake, to optimise on accuracy and processing requirements.
Guide the team in adhering to industry best practices for Software Development, Engineering, Quality Assurance, DevOps and MLOps
Guide the team in the evaluation and co-development of AI modelling & ML, Integration, Testing & Product Management
To provide engineering leadership to the team in providing technical consultancy to the HTDs and WOG agencies as Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in AI and Digital technologies, across AI domains of Adversarial AI, Computer Vision AI, Embodied AI, Language AI, Multi-modal AI, and Emerging AI related projects.
What We Are Looking For
Min Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related disciplines
Min 10 years in product development work, of which min 8 years of working experience in the field of AI and 5 years experience in the development and delivery of large scale AI related projects with multi-sites deployment and proven track records
Knowledge in multi-tier architectures for AI/ML, Data Science and Data Analytics platformsin one or more cloud service providers
Strong leadership with good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in leading and collaborating with multi-agencies teams
Strong understanding of Home Team Departments’ business and technical requirements and cognizant of AI technologies across AI domains of Adversarial AI, Vision AI, Embodied AI, Language AI, Multi-modal AI, and Emerging AI.
At least 5 years’ experience in programming languages such as Python, C++ etc.
Good knowledge of Deep Learning frameworks such as Pytorch, Tensorflow, Keras, Caffe etc.
Self-motivated, team player, creative with excellent communication skills, excellent technical and interpersonal skills and ability to work independently.
*All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
