Join SingHealth Duke-NUS Artificial Intelligence in Medicine Institute (AIMI) as a Senior/Assistant Manager designing, developing, and implementing generative AI capabilities and LLM-based solutions for a secure healthcare AI platform. You will contribute to clinical, research, and enterprise AI initiatives across SingHealth and Duke-NUS, helping to create reusable, scalable, and trustworthy AI services, knowledge resources, and integrations.
What You'll Do
You will design and develop LLM-based applications for clinical, research, and enterprise use cases, including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt workflows, AI agents, workflow automation, and reusable AI services, while evaluating model quality, groundedness, hallucination risk, latency, and task performance. You'll build and maintain knowledge resources using clinical documents, research literature, terminology datasets, and approved data sources, implementing document ingestion, metadata, embeddings, semantic retrieval, reranking, citations, source lineage, and knowledge relationships.
Working primarily in Python, you'll develop clean, production-ready software and build REST APIs, data pipelines, integration layers, and user interfaces that support AI configuration, testing, monitoring, and administration. You will implement responsible AI, privacy, security, and governance controls including access controls, audit trails, source attribution, prompt guardrails, output validation, and usage monitoring.
You'll also work closely with clinicians, researchers, data stewards, product owners, architects, and governance teams to translate requirements into practical technical solutions, contributing to engineering standards, documentation, internal knowledge sharing, and proof-of-concept evaluation.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience in software engineering, applied AI/ML, data engineering, or generative AI product development. Candidates with more relevant experience may be considered for a Senior Assistant Manager position.
Strong Python proficiency and demonstrated experience building LLM applications, including RAG, embeddings, semantic search, prompt engineering, structured outputs, AI agents, or workflow orchestration.
Familiarity with PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or comparable frameworks, as well as Kubernetes, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, logging, and production support.
Curious, practical, and self-driven individual with ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and committed to privacy, security, responsible AI, and patient safety.
